The Tuneworks Series

Tuneworks is a collection of traditional folk tunes. They also have a group of excellent tutors who visit certain festivals and events including Shrewsbury Folk Festival! There is a free, downloadable tune-book on their website (linked below). However, if you can’t read music or you’re not sure how the tunes go, it can be useful to hear the tunes. I have made a video of every single tune in the Tuneworks book as a free resource for anyone to listen or play along to on my YouTube channel!

These folk tunes are traditional and everyone plays them slightly differently. I will try to play them as they are written in the book or how I have been taught by Tuneworks tutors, but if I play it slightly differently, don’t worry – this is one of the joys of folk tunes!

These folk tunes are a relatively popular collection and you should be able to go to sessions up and down the country and hear quite a few being played! The Tuneworks motto is Learn it, Love it, Pass it On and that is what I am trying to do! You can too by sharing with friends and family and getting everyone to play along!
